She graduated from the Moscow Lomonosov University in 1988 and studied at \u00c9cole Pratique des Hautes \u00c9tudes. She defended her PhD thesis entitled \u201cOn the Parts of the Human Soul in Greek Philosophy\u201d in 1997 and taught Ancient Greek as well as courses on Greek Philosophical Ethics, and Byzantine Culture at the University of Vilnius. She was a research fellow and lecturer at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland (in 2002 and 2014-2016), and is also the Chair of the Lithuanian-Swiss project \u201cExegetical Traditions in Ancient Philosophy, Judaism and Christianity: their Origins and Cultural Context\u201d. Tatjana Aleknien\u0117\u2019s primary research interest is Plato and Plotinus. Her recent publications are the translations with extensive commentaries of Plato\u2019s <em>Philebus<\/em> (2016) and <em>Gorgias<\/em> (it will be out in 2018). She is now working on the research and translation of <em>Theaetetus<\/em> (funded by the Research Council of Lithuania). She is the author of <em>A l\u2019approche du divin.
